March 22nd, 2010

I am very proud to announce that I have been asked to sponsor the grand opening of the Naughty Neko Club run by my good friends Sorka Nemeth and Pip Scribe.

This fantastic new venue has some much to offer everyone (not just neko’s) – it has an inworld office of Sorka’s Secondlife dating service – Virtual Valentines – which allows people to leave a personal adverts if they are looking for friendship, romance, or more. In addition to this it has relaxed “Reading Rooms” where regular discussion workshops will be held, 5 themed bedrooms fully equipped, a fully equipped dungeon, the club floor and several areas to just curl up and relax.

It opens it’s doors this Friday (26th March 2010) at 2pm SL and will have the fantastic DJ Crusher Jewell spinning the tracks for us until 4pm (although he has said he may stay longer if the party really swings). There will be several prizes of a Paws 4 Thought 100L$ Gift Voucher given out throughout the evening, and there will be goodie bags available to every guest with an exclusive bear, one of my tails, and a 25L$ gift voucher in it.

Shamrock Treasure Hunt on Cheshire

March 10th, 2010

My good friend Ona Ra, owner of the Cheshire and Jabberwocky sims and the creative genius behind “Jabberwocky Sculpt Collection” decided to have a nice, easy treasure hunt on her sim to celebrate St Patricks Day.

Items are hidden in Shamrocks like these

The prizes which are all donated by tenants on her mall sim are hidden within shamrocks (see picture) and placed in the stores (or stalls) of those taking part on the Cheshire sim. There are some fantastic stores taking part in this including:

  • Jabberwocky
  • Cheshire Photography
  • Tea & Strychnine
  • Indie Rose
  • Secrets of Gaia
  • Dark Sim Designs
  • Follow the Rabbit
  • Steambound
  • Paws 4 Thought (of course)
  • Fluffernutters

This is a fairly small hunt as you can see from the list above – which may appeal to some of the newer hunters and there will be something for everyone in the prizes I am sure. The hunt will be running from today (March 10th) through till St Patricks Day (17th March) so don’t leave it too long to go hunting.

My contribution to this hunt is a set of special “luck of the Irish” tails (which will only otherwise be availble as a group gift that will be sent for St Paddy’s day). There are two designs, in there a skinny and a fluffy tail, both with two attach points.

Good Luck and Happy Hunting

St Patricks Day is coming

March 8th, 2010

Well, it is almost that time of year again where we raise our pint (or pints) of Guinness for good ol St Paddy and this year Paws 4 Thought is determined to celebrate in style with a complete new range of products as well as some additions to my popular “kitten teddies” range especially for the occasion.

I am using this celebration to finally launch my much anticipated range of tails. The designs come in 4 colours (Red, Black, White and Blonde) and 2 “thicknesses” – Fluffy for those that like a fuller tail and Skinny for those that prefer a more streamlined look.

Currently I only have the “luck of the Irish” set done and for sale, but there are more sets coming, so please keep coming back to check for the new designs. There will also be an exclusive “green tinted” set of tails available as a group gift, so make sure you are either in the group, of slap one of my subscrib-o-matics before the 17th to receive them.

In addition to the new tails, I have several new St Patricks Day themed kitten teddies coming out, the first of which is “pot of gold”. This cheeky little guy with his green hat and bow, is holding tight to his very own pot of gold that he has found at the end of the rainbow. He (as do all my bears) sits at around 1 metre tall, so he will be noticed, and again the same as the rest of my kitten teddies, he has transfer perms to make him the purrfect gift.

There are several other tail and teddie designs coming, including “one for the road” who has his very special drink to hand, as well as a basic kitten teddy with just his bow and hat.

You can find all my St Patricks Day products in my seasonal storeat the Paws 4 Thought Plaza on Nanda.

If you have any suggestions that could be added to the range, please don’t hesitate to contact me either inworld by im or notecard, or via my contact form on the website.

April Showers Gridwide Treasure Hunt

March 6th, 2010

When a good friend of mine mentioned that my former boss Titania Bracken was trying to organise a gridwide treasure hunt my ears pricked up.

Poster Image

This is the first time Tan has tried to organise a hunt of this scale, although she has done several sim-wide hunts before.  This hunt, unsurprisingly given the name – has a weather theme to it, and as such, the vendors participating have been asked to try and make the prize something related to weather (although this isn’t compulsory).

As soon as I heard the theme, my brain went into overdrive and I have built an exclusive prize that will only be available to those participating in the hunt – I have included a picture on this blog. He has had special textures and emitters made and I hope you will enjoy him if you are one of the ones lucky enough to find where he is hiding.

Exclusive hunt prize

The hunt runs from the 2nd of April, until the 30th of April, for more information join the group inworld by touching one of the posters displayed around the grid, or check out the Temptations Blog (be warned, the website has adult content).

Good luck, and happy hunting.

Dark Katz Hunt 2 – Gridwide treasure hunt

January 22nd, 2010

Some of you may remember that last year I participated in the original Dark Katz Hunt on Secondlife, making an exclusive cat gym especially for the hunt. Well I am pleased to announce that the hunts organiser Lolla Denimore has invited me to particpate in the second installment of that very successful treasure hunt.

I am very flattered to be invited back, and will be making another exclusive item for this hunt – the item will not be released as part of my normal ranges so if you want it you will have to join the hunt. At this time I am still forming ideas for this extra special prize and will announce details of it nearer the time along with the details of the treasure hunt itself.

For those of you that are unfamiliar with gridwide treasure hunts, I would highly recommend them as they are a fantastic way to get some really good items from designers that you may not have previously known and make  some very good friends along the way as the groups set up for these hunts are normally full of fun loving people more then willing to give you a nudge in the right direction.

More details of the hunt will come later, so be sure to check back to find out more.

Happy New Year!!!

January 2nd, 2010

Hi Everyone,

I just wanted to take this time to say thank you to all my loyal customers, and wish you all a wonderful 2010! Paws 4 Thought has gone from strength to strength over the past 6 months and it is all down to you, my wonderful customers, I hope that with the new year here, and some exciting (well I think they are anyhow ;) ) new ranges in the pipeline, that 2010 will see Paws 4 Thought continuing to grow.

Product development and releases have been a little slow over the christmas and new year period, with many of the releases delayed – this is because I managed to break my arm just before christmas, making computer use virtually impossible. I am pleased to say that things are healing nicely, and I am able in a somewhat limited fashion to use the computer again.

Hopefully, I will be in a position to release some of the delayed products over the next few weeks and then pick back up on the development side. As always, if there is an idea you would like to see at Paws 4 Thought, feel free to contact me either in world or via the website and I will see what I can do.

A peaceful, and prosperous new year to you, one and all.

Best wishes Zennie =^.^=

Yes folks, it is that time of the year again – and Paws 4 Thought is getting into the festive spirit. If you visit my mega store on Nanda over the Advent period (1st – 25th Dec) you will find an Advent Calander full of goodies on the wall. Each door has a number on it and on the corresponding day it will deliver the gift inside it – if you click on a wrong door, it will give you a message telling you that it can only be opened on **** date.

Some of the prizes in the calander have been designed exclusively for it, and can not be found anywhere else in secondlife. There are many ranges in the calander including Furniture, Artwork, Seasonal Items (Wreaths, Snowcats and Christmas Trees) as well as new ranges that have yet to be released including “Cuddle Kittens” and tails (pictured).

So make sure you come on over and be sure to tell all your friends too! And while you are there don’t forget to check out my infomation wall for a wonderful “Christmas Formal” that will be held at the Cheshire sim, and Slapt.me’s New Year Prize Draw.

Most importantly – Have a very merry Christmas!

Paws 4 Thought finds a new “online” store

November 26th, 2009

Hi Everyone,

Following on from my last post about how Xstreet managed to loose my business - I am pleased to be able to announce that we have found a new online marketplace – slapt.me.

So far I have only registered and verified my account, but I have had an extremely warm welcome from Constanza Amsterdam who is one of the owners, and one of her mod’s Deckheard Cleanslate (and I recognise the name of one of the forum’s other mod’s too - as an old neighbour of mine Sid Nagy).

I will be gradually adding my lines to Slapt.me, so bear with me (still got my RL injury which is slowing everything down a little) but I am confident that this will be a new lease of life for Paws 4 Thought’s online presence.

I can thoroughly recommend Slapt.me to any merchant out there who is looking for an alternative for Xstreetsl after the recent issues on that site and want to send thanks to Constanza and her team for the really warm welcome and prompt response to any questions I had. I look forward to working with you all to help all prosper, starting with the “NEW YEARS GRAND PRIZE DRAW 2009” that I will be donating a prize to :)

Great job guys!

Xstreet SL has made me an unhappy Kitty

November 19th, 2009

As some of you know, I have been offline a bit recently due to a RL injury to my wrist that has made it nigh on impossible for me to use a computer comfortably…

I finally made it back to my digital life today only to discover this announcement from Linden Labs regarding items set for sale on Xstreet SL!

I have been a loyal merchant on Xstreet SL even from back in the days when it was humble little Secondlfe Exchange, so was shocked to see that they are now going to cream what little profit I make from my  items as my ethos has always been high level quaility for minimum expenditure to help those that don’t have a lot of L$ sloshing around. I have many items, most under 50L$ on Xstreet SL which they are now planning on charging me 10L$ a month (per item) for me to list them – I have over 300 items, and do not make anything like the 3000L$ a month needed to list them.

I refuse to put up my prices to “absorb” this cost – mainly coz this wouldn’t help anyhow – I just don’t sell the volume of items needed to cover the new costs.  I am simply going to be pulling  most of my items from Xstreet SL.  It wouldn’t seem so unfair for little fish like me if the charge was a one off “listing activation” fee, and they continued charging a commission on items sold (which I have no issue with) but for now, I will be looking at moving all my items over to other SL online marketplaces. I will add links for you all once I have found and set up a suitable replacement to Xstreet SL.

I urge all you other merchants that use this “service” to do the same, maybe if enough of us bail out they will see the error in their thinking and come up with a fairer solution for those of us that don’t like to charge the earth for our goods!!!!

I intend, at least for now, to leave a few of my best sellers up as an advert, but I am not looking at keeping many on there, and I will re-assess this in a few months. I do understand that they need to make money, they are a business, but also, we, the content creators, are an important source of income for them too, if they drive out the little guys like me, who will become the next big players?

Seasonal Store and new winter editions

November 3rd, 2009
2009 Christmas Tree

2009 Christmas Tree

Well winter has hit the UK, and as a reflection, has also come to Paws 4 Thought at the new Paws Plaza on Nanda. The snow has fallen, SnowCats sing under the lamplight, and there is a new icy carousel to ride too. I have had a busy couple of days and have made a start on some new winter edition products that can be purchased at the brand new Seasonal Store.

As the name suggests, this store’s stock will change with the seasons, currently it has winter and Christmas based items, but will change to Valentines in the run up to Feb 14th, Easter and so on through out the year, so be sure to landmark it as there will be new stock coming all the time.

I have several brand new and exciting ranges including Snowcats and Wreaths, Christmas Visitor List Maker Mats,  as well as the new Paws 4 Thought Christmas tree for 2009. There are more ranges to come including “winter woolies” and Christmas based teddies and cuddle Kittens, as well as some more of my popular “standies” kitten teddies.

There is so much more to come as I get the time to build it  and with prices starting from as little as L$15 there is something here for everyones budget, so you can make your SL Christmas shine without having to sell your soul.

Be sure to check out the other stores too, as there will be an Advent Calander in the Mega Store giving out daily prizes from the 1st of December.

Hope to see you there soon
